MY CHILD IS NOT FOCUSED

A mother once told me:

“My son becomes so restless at home.

He keeps scrolling on the phone all day.

He doesn’t focus. He gets angry quickly. He doesn’t communicate much.”

A few months later, she enrolled him in basketball.

Something slowly changed.

He started waking up early on his own.

He began laughing more.

He made friends.

He started handling failure better.

He became calmer after practice.

His concentration improved.

And surprisingly… even his academics became better.

Why?

Because children are not designed only to study and consume information.

They are designed to:

- move,

- create,

- express,

- explore,

- fail,

- recover,

- connect,

- and feel alive.

Today many children are mentally overloaded but emotionally underexpressed.

Arts and sports are not “extra activities.”

They are emotional outlets.

Whether it is:

- football,

- basketball,

- dance,

- painting,

- singing,

- theatre,

- martial arts,

- music,

- or any activity they truly enjoy…

children learn life skills that no textbook can fully teach.

They learn:

- focus,

- teamwork,

- leadership,

- communication,

- discipline,

- confidence,

- emotional release,

- resilience,

- and self-belief.

A child who paints learns patience.

A child who plays sports learns teamwork.

A child who dances learns expression.

A child who performs learns confidence.

A child who creates learns to think independently.

And most importantly —

they learn how to handle emotions in a healthy way.

Not every child will become an engineer or a doctor.

But every child deserves the opportunity to become:

- emotionally healthy,

- confident,

- capable,

- and happy.

Sometimes one activity can save a child from:

- loneliness,

- anxiety,

- screen addiction,

- low confidence,

- emotional suppression,

- and even feeling disconnected from life.

So let us not ask children only:

“How many marks did you score?”

Let us also ask:

“What makes you feel alive?”

Because we are not just raising high achievers.

We are raising human beings.
